SERVES 6-8
INGREDIENTS
- 1kg lean beef mince
- 1 brown onion, diced
- 1-2tsp garlic, minced
- 2tsp dried mixed herbs
- 2tsp smoked paprika
- 2tsp cinnamon
- 1tbs nutalex
- Olive oil
- 1 cup of beef bone broth
- 1 cup of frozen peas
- 1/2 cup of tomato paste
- Sweet potato, for the top
METHOD
- Pre heat oven to 180 degrees, fan forced
- Heat a large fry pan with a splash of olive oil and garlic
- Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil and start to peel your sweet potatoes. Cut the sweet potato into cubes and once the water is boiling add them in
- Add the onion and fry until it goes translucent
- Add the beef mince and cook it through
- Add the tomato paste, herbs, bone broth and then the peas
- Once the beef mince is cooked turn it off and let it sit to the side
- Get a large baking dish ready for the pie to go into
- Once the sweet potato is cooked, drain it and mash with nutalex or butter and cinnamon
- Add the mince to the baking dish and than evenly spread the sweet potato mash on top, add to the oven and bake for 35-40mins
