Picture creamy bananas, slathered in your favorite nut butter, dunked in rich, velvety chocolate, and topped with all your favorite goodies. They're the ultimate guilt-free treat that's perfect for any time of day.
Frozen Banana Bites
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/4 cup of your favorite nut butter (my favourite is peanut butter but almond butter is also a great option!)
- Dark chocolate chips
- Toppings of your choice (such as shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or dried fruit)
Instructions:
- Peel the bananas and cut them into slices, about 2cm thick.
- Spread a thin layer of nut butter on half of the banana slices.
- Place another banana slice on top of each nut butter-coated slice, creating little banana sandwiches.
- If using, melt the dark chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth. Dip each banana sandwich into the melted chocolate, coating half or all of the banana.
- Place the chocolate-coated banana bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle your choice of toppings over the chocolate-coated banana bites before the chocolate sets.
- Place the baking sheet in the freezer and let the banana bites freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Once frozen, transfer the banana bites to an airtight container or zip-top bag for storage in the freezer.
