You thought the first slow brisket recipe i posted was good….? You ain’t tasted nothing yet 🤤
SERVES A LOT OF LOVED ONES 6+
INGREDIENTS
MEAT RUB
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 3/4 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Plus one whole brown onion

BBQ SAUCE
- 2 garlic cloves , minced
- 1.5cup apple cider vinegar
- 1.5cups bbq sauce, I used ‘Good Sauce’ from Woolworths
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 2 tsp black pepper, onion powder, mustard powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
METHOD
- Fire up the slow cooker and add all the ingredients for the bbq sauce, let it sit there on high while you “rub” the meat
- Mix the spice rub together and rub into the meat well with your hands, allow the meat to sit with the rub on it for 30mins
- After 30mins add to the slow cooker, put the lid on and leave for 6hrs
- Towards the end of the 6hrs peel and slice the onion and add to the meat
- Pre heat the oven in the last 30mins of the cook time and prepare a lined baking tray for the meat to sit on
- Place the meat on the tray and allow to cook, uncovered for 15mins
- Add the sauce and juices from the slow cooker into a small saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. It will thicken once it cools. Once you have brought the meat out of the oven coat in the sauce
- Whola! You have the most drool worthy meat dish in town.
