FADS, FADS & MORE FADS

November 6, 2017realadmin_adminEducation

There is unfortunately more than one fad in the health and fitness industry and too many times people get caught up in clever advertising about the “latest and greatest” fads that over promise and under deliver. There are no “magic pills” or quick fixes only consistency and persistence.

Do you think society as a whole became unhealthy over night? No. Fast food, instant, quick and easy nutritional choices has seen a dramatic decline in health as a whole for the general population. No longer is it a sit-down meal at the dining table with protein and fresh veggies or protein and fats for breakfast. All that is a thing of the past now replaced with a high carb and high sugar, low nutrient meal instead of the good ol’ meat and three veg.

We now see “fat blaster” or ‘get slim and tone’ meal replacements on the supermarket shelves that are boxed and wrapped with clever advertising to entice anyone who is either trying to lose weight or start their own health and wellness journey. All these products are what are destroying our metabolism slowly but surely, from the inside out we are damaging our bodies’ ability to burn fat. Promising things like quick results or slim and toned abs but if you read the fine print, the information these companies don’t want the consumer to know about their product is that it all has an expiration date. Five weeks or six weeks or a 10-week detox plan. What consumers don’t realise is what happens after that time period.

After 10 weeks of being on a calorie deficient diet and then going back to the same eating habits as before the detox plan started, what do you think is happening on the inside? A fad diet often cuts so many calories that, instead of increasing your metabolism to burn fat, it slows down your metabolism to conserve its energy. That’s why when people come to RFT seeking help we encourage people to eat several small, balanced meals per day to continuously provide energy to keep metabolism moving. Also helping the body to burn a slow burning flame of energy all day long, stabilising our blood sugar levels and saving us from crashing and burning around 3pm and grabbing the closest sugary food nearby. Under eating is just as bad as over eating. Under nourishing the body and depriving it of nutrients is exactly what these fad diets are all about. Within the five meals per day that we recommend to our clients we want them to be filled with nutrients because as we know the more nutrients, quality based foods that enter the body the better. A healthy balanced diet mixed with regular movement each week we know that those nutrients are going to flood the body making us more efficient fat burners and more healthier humans.

The bottom line is eat 70% earth made foods, 20% man made foods and 10% of your diet can be relaxed. And by “relaxed” we mean a healthier version of a “treat” or take away food. Such as Grilled for dinner or maybe even a raw treat such as a vegan based chocolate bar something that will satisfy your sweet tooth but not undo all your hard work.

If you are over spending your years on diets, yo-yoing from one to the next and you are looking for more long-term results then Real Fitness Training is the place to experience. Being an educational based personal training studios we have been changing and crating healthier lifestyles since 2013 throughout the Hills District community.

Fruits and vegetables pose many health benefits and play a crucial role to living a healthy lifestyle. It is essential that we are adding plant matter to all of our meals because;

🍆They provide colour and texture and make the food we are eating more appealing.
🥦Fruits and vegetables are convenient and are quick and easy to eat.
🍉Plant matter contains high amounts of fibre which helps keep us fuller for longer and keeps our digestive system happy.
🍌Fruits and vegetables are naturally low in calories which is of more benefit to us as they are nutritionally rich but low in calories.
🌱Plant matter foods contain high amounts of vitamins and minerals which help us stay energised and feel good.
✅Eating the right amount of fruits and vegetables can help to reduce your risk of lifestyle diseases.

So start of by adding some greens first to your meals with some fruits in between should help in increasing your plant matter intake and watch you start reaping the benefits.

LEGEND OF THE WEEK Congratulations to this super LEGEND OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to this super star 🌟 Joanna B!
Joanna joined our community a little under 3 months ago, armed with some big strength goals; including performing a bodyweight chin up. This has been the jumping off point for her training plan in which she completes:
3x PT 🏋🏻‍♀️
2-3x Sweat 🏃🏻‍♀️
Having never lifted a weight before coming to RFT, in the last week Joanna performed a:
• 50kg back squat for 8 reps
• 60kg deadlift for 6 reps
In under 3 months! This is largely due to her get in and get after it mentality; her determination and curiosity about what her body can do is unmatched and makes her a genuine delight to train.

Aside from that, Joanna brings such a warm and kind energy into the gym that is appreciated by all the staff and members, and makes us proud to have you as part of our gym, so thank you Joanna!
And congratulations to this Legend! 🌟🏋🏼‍♀️🤩

What’s The Most Important Part Of Your Training What’s The Most Important Part Of Your Training Plan?

Strength or Sweat? 🏋🏼💦
Yoga or Run? 🧘🏼‍♂️🏃🏼
Small daily walks or long walks a few times a week? 🚶🏼‍♀️ 🚶

Everyone wants to know what their training plan should look like to give the best possible outcome! ✅ It’s great to be excited about training initially but over planning and underperforming will only lead to disappointment and reduce motivation!

The truth is that the best training plan is the one you are compliant to!

COMPLIANCE always wins! 🥇

There’s no point in planning to strength train 5x a week and run 4x a week when realistically you will only fit 3x strength and 2x runs in a regular week! 🗒

Trying to do too much of one thing and failing to do so can cause a spiral where you just don’t do anything or do even less than you should’ve! ❌

Stick to the plan laid out by your coach, trust the process and stay COMPLIANT for the best outcomes for your health and training!
